brackets AND IN THE INSTRUCTIONS things would be REALLY CLEAR. The included pictures just do not show enough detail to figure out the direction of the offsets.
The seat fabric is a thin vinyl. It feels soft and thin, time will tell how durable it really is. But it is not thick vinyl like used in Detroit seats. I was kind of disappointed with the softness of the foam and the thickness of the vinyl. I was expecting a stiffer thicker fabric and rigid self-supportive foam like a Recaro, Corbeau or Sparco.
The cut-aways on the underside of the seats do not clear the brackets. You either mount the bracket on top of the fabric or pull it away. The instructions do not say which to do. Either way, over time I can see the brackets causing tears or wear.
The seat bottom - side bolsters are a soft foam. There is no internal frame, and they rely on the foam to be self supporting. The seat bottom bolsters are going to fail from mere daily climbing in & out. They are that weak. In fact, they flatten out as you climb out. Not rigid like Recaros or the like.
The vinyl gets MOTHER HOT ! You definitely need seat covers to prevent searing your skin!
Unfortunately Rugged Ridge does not make seat covers for their own line of seats - short sighted? Absolutely !
Overall, these are better that the generic EBay seats that I replaced.
Are they up to Rugged Ridge's reputation for quality and durability? Not quite.
Made in Asia - appears so.
